Liberica coffee was discovered in Liberia, West Africa. Approximately 150 years ago, the colonising British in Malaysia brought this unique coffee species with large cherries into Malaysia. Due to its big cherries, Liberica has since gain the moniker of "Elephant Coffee". Liberica is a strong species and highly adaptable, which can be cultivated from low lands to mountainous region. However due to its low production yield and high processing costs, consisting only about 1% of global coffee production, this species has become extremely rare in the world of coffee species and varieties.MY LIBERICA Enterprise is inspired by Liberica coffee varietal. The spirit of our humble coffee shop starts from very limited harvest of Liberica coffee in the farm to meticulous processing and roasting, and eventually brewing.
